Thesis Statement

Spoken in whispers, the words psychological trauma invoke collective fear and shame. We are afraid to say them out loud, and much less, admit to experiencing. But how does trauma transform when held inside the body? How does the trauma we experience shape who we become? Picking Up The Pieces explores these topics and provides viewers an affirmative space to navigate their experiences and begin conversation. Each one of us will go through life and experience heart-breaking, life-altering wounds. In an effort to be kinder to ourselves and others, we must reframe the question “What’s wrong with you?” and instead ask “What happened to you?”
