Eva Kwong—Bio & Influences
I was born in Hong Kong and moved to New York City as a teenager. This bilingual and bicultural upbringing provided me with the experience to view life from more than one point of view.
My work has been inspired by my study of forms from nature since I was a kid and as an undergrad working at the Nature Lab at RISD. I am interested in the interconnectedness of everything in our natural world. I see the underlying simultaneous similarity and differences in the structures and patterns of organic form from the macro to the micro. Seashells, beetles, bacteria, diatoms, viruses, seed pods, water, fog, rocks, eggs, etc. have informed all the work that I do.
