Saša Bogojev is a Croatian-born art writer and curator living in the Netherlands. Saša Bogojev was a contributing editor and European correspondent at Juxtapoz magazine for many years. Bogojev creates content for various international publications and media outlets, collaborates with artists on monographs and catalogs, and has curated a number of gallery shows worldwide.
With a focus on contemporary painting, Bogojev is committed to discovering young and underrecognized talent and finding works that span high art and vernacular art practice.
As a curator, Bogojev "tr[ies] to create an exciting presentation that will give the opportunity for lesser-known artists to show work alongside their more established colleagues,” he says. “At the same time, I'm trying to give art lovers a chance to experience work that otherwise might not be shown at that particular venue, or even in the region. I'm also trying to be inclusive and put an accent on the younger generation and work that [has] a fresh angle to it.”
Among the gallery exhibitions Bogojev has curated or co-curated since 2016 are 8th Ply, The Garage, Amsterdam (2020); Universes 3, WOAW Gallery, Hong Kong (2020); Melancholympics, The Wunderwall, Antwerp, Belgium (2020); ME, High Line Nine, New York (2020); The Flats, Tales of Arte, Imola, Italy (2019); The Distance Between, BC Gallery, Berlin (2019); New Classics, Galerie C.O.A., Montreal (2019); High on Stress, Amala Gallery, Tokyo (2017); and Happier Together, Amala Gallery, Tokyo (2017).
