Returning to Bloomington is a dream of many IU graduates and, as an alumna, I’m excited to realize this dream. I have always had a great affection for our institution and our town. I greatly cherish my education and I treasure our university, faculty, and staff. IU is an exceptional institution, and I am honored to have this amazing opportunity to help make it even better.
I am galvanized by the challenge of working alongside our strong team to fashion a school that offers new opportunities for our students. Our faculty and staff have already come together with such energy to create this new school. Its unique organization allows us to offer courses, internships, and international study programs across the spectrum of today’s art/design practices. As a result, our students truly learn how to take their ideas from the imagination to the marketplace.
I am also inspired by the unparalleled opportunities for the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design to collaborate and partner with other disciplines across the College of Arts and Sciences and Indiana University. In addition, I would like to enhance our strong connections to IU alumni, to the IU regional campuses, and to other national and international institutions so we can provide students with ever-more innovative classroom and real-life experiences.
It has been wonderful to work with the IU community to develop a progressive curriculum and dynamic new programs. The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design can now send our graduates into the world where they can share those powerful lessons to exponentially broaden their impact.
