The Deep End: Golden Age Comic Books
The Deep End: Golden Age Comic Books showcases the theme of underwater imagery in comic books created between 1938 and 1961, a period widely acknowledged as the medium’s golden age. The exhibition is drawn from the nearly 20,000-piece comic book collection of Eskenazi faculty member Malcolm Mobutu Smith, associate professor of ceramics.
Blanket Songs is a multi-media installation and performance by artist and composer John Hitchcock. The artist examines, combines, and reinterprets traditional narratives of the American frontier and indigenous stories to tell the story of “The West.” The installation features neon sculptures, video, prints, fabric works, and objects.

Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design BFA Thesis Exhibition
The Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University Bloomington is pleased to present the Spring 2023 BFA Thesis Exhibition. This show will feature work created by graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students in the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University.
The State of Clay in Indiana III, a juried and invitational exhibition, will be held in conjunction with the 3rd Biennial Indiana Clay Conference hosted by Indiana University-Bloomington, in partnership with, Purdue University Fort Wayne, and the Michiana Pottery Tour. The goal for this exhibition is to highlight diverse work made by clay artists who have either lived or worked in the state of Indiana, the work of the conference organizers as well as the main conference presenters and demonstrators.
Derivations features the works of 11 different ceramic artists who have studied at IU-Bloomington, each approaching and implementing clay in diverse ways, demonstrating ceramic’s unique properties and characteristics.
The Grunwald Gallery is pleased to present Truly, in all sincerity, an exhibit of contemporary visual art, featuring five artists who explore the concept of the truth through their work.
