Eskenazi Technology Innovation Lab

About the Lab

The Eskenazi Technology Innovation Lab (ETIL) at the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design, established in the spring of 2024, provides a research and creative activity platform for faculty who work in the dynamic intersection between art, design, social science, and technology. This research space is dedicated to cultivating a network of academic professionals, encouraging them to share their groundbreaking research findings, collaborate on ambitious projects, and actively engage in grant-seeking endeavors. By emphasizing a culture of collective intelligence and interdisciplinary cooperation, the lab aims to propel the frontiers of research not only within the school but also across the broader academic and professional communities. Furthermore, the Eskenazi Technology Innovation Lab stands as a critical hub for external engagement, offering a gateway for meaningful interactions and partnerships beyond the academic sphere.

The Eskenazi Technology Innovation Lab is a key contributor to the IU Research A&H AI+Digital Future program. While varied in their aims and approaches, faculty at ETIL share a common pursuit: to unravel the complex interactions between Artificial Intelligence (AI), creativity, ethics, and human behavior in the context of the Post-Information Society. Our contemporary era is marked by an unprecedented fusion of technology with every facet of daily life and the increasingly blurred boundaries between human and machine. Information processing is conducted as a seemingly instantaneous act, amplifying the deep symbiosis of the human intellect with technological advancements. Our research seeks to provide a holistic understanding of AI’s multifaceted influence across various fields. Read more about our research and members.
