Curtis Hidemasa Arima is a metalsmith who is drawn to the transformative nature of materials and how they hold memory, emotion, and history. His jewelry and sculpture have been exhibited at numerous venues including the Metal Museum, in Nashville, TN, the Ohio Craft Museum in Columbus, the Baltimore Jewelry Center, the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA, and the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Arima has taught and lectured in the US, Japan, and China.
As Chair of the Jewelry & Metal Art Program at California College of the Arts, Arima takes pleasure in helping students find their artistic identity and connection to more sustainable practices. He is also a member of the Ethical Metalsmiths Education Committee Advisory Committee and the Society of North American Goldsmiths.
