Miyoung Hong engages in creative, interdisciplinary projects and research in partnership with market leaders committed to evidence-based design. Hong’s scholarly work engages interdisciplinary aspects that embrace design pedagogy, student development, sustainability, and healthcare design. Her research focuses on the impact of designed environments on human and organizational health with the goal of supporting healthcare facilities in embracing evidence-based design to improve end-users and resource outcomes. Hong also researches the integration of health and wellness mindsets of students in their learning environment and evaluates how the design of physical environments may improve student learning outcomes. Hong has practiced professionally in Asia and the United States specializing in commercial interiors ranging from health/wellness to hospitality and workplace design. She is an LEED accredited professional in Building Design and Construction, a WELL accredited professional, an Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) certified professional, and National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certificate holder.
