Hoa Vo's research covers adaptive technologies (e.g., AR, VR, digital modeling and fabrication) in teaching, intersectional collaborations in design, creativity and feedback practices in design, and physical experiences in the built environment. She has published in the Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology (JEDT), International Journal of Designs for Learning (IJDL), Journal of Creativity, Academic Exchange Quarterly (AEQ), and peer-reviewed conference proceedings. She is an active member of Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA), and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She has been serving IDEC Student Design Competition Committee since 2023.
