Since our last Eskenazi School e-newsletter in the fall, our worlds have been upended. We’ve all had to learn entirely new ways of working and connecting with one another, our Eskenazi School faculty have made major adjustments to their teaching, campus has gone silent, and our students are now connecting with us from over the country and world.
Many of our colleagues and students have personal commitments that make it very difficult to balance their daily schedules. Our beloved end-of-semester events have been cancelled or postponed, and we’ve envisioned new ways to celebrate our grads’ and undergrads’ achievements, especially our bicentennial class.
I’d like to thank the entire Eskenazi School community for their dedication and innovation during this challenging time. Their super-human efforts are greatly appreciated by me, and by our colleagues and students.
Hopefully receiving this spring’s e-newsletter signals some sense of return to a regular routine, even if that routine is quite different from a few months ago. As you might imagine, some students are facing difficult situations right now—from food insecurity to unexpected medical expenses to needs for housing or technology. Here you will find options to provide emergency support to our students. The university has processes in place to ensure that funds raised will flow quickly to IU students in urgent need.
I hope you and yours are well during these difficult days. Please stay in touch with us, either virtually, or hopefully in the near future, in person.
Health and peace,
Peg
