The 2024 McKinney international artist-in-residence, van Haaften draws with reflections and shadows to create fleeting mirages.

Math and art come together in Morton Bradley’s colorful, geometric sculptures, of which IU owns more than 300. In a recent workshop, Eskenazi Associate Professor Martha MacLeish showed visitors how color works with form in Bradley’s pieces. University Collections at McCalla is currently hosting an exhibition of Bradley’s work.

Through May 10, the Eskenazi School's Grunwald Gallery of Art is welcoming proposals from artists around the world for works of art that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to explore new processes and forms of creativity. Eskenazi M.F.A. alum James Watkins shows ceramics at Roswell Museum
Through July 7, 2024, New Mexico’s Roswell Museum is exhibiting work from the 1990s by renowned ceramicist James Watkins, who received his M.F.A. at IU in the 1970s. Paul Whitfield Horn Professor Emeritus in the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University, Watkins describes his ceramic work as a realization of memories of growing up as an African American during the Jim Crow period.
Sougwen Chung (B.F.A. '07) awarded Time100 Impact Award for AI collaborations
On February 11 in Dubai, Sougwen Chung (B.F.A. '07) accepted a Time100 Impact Award for their artistic influence on the field of artificial intelligence. "The intention is very simple," says Danny Weddle, CEO of Terran Robotics. "The more people living in the core of a city, the better off you are." The Eskenazi School alum (BFA '09, Studio Art) studying toward the M. Arch in the Eskenazi School's Miller Architecture program, uses local clay, robotics, and AI to create affordable, sustainable housing.
