Margaret Dolinsky creates virtual environments and interactive art experiences that have been exhibited at SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica, ICC in Tokyo, and the Walker Art Center. She was commissioned by the Indianapolis Museum of Art to create “Cabinet of Dreams,” a VR experience of Chinese antiquities. Dolinsky’s work also involves digital projections for opera and experimental film including sets for the for the American Opera Theater. Dolinsky’s handcrafted AR and 3D printed sculpture focuses on how digital art provokes shifts in perception and enhances sensory awareness. These have been exhibited in San Jose, San Francisco, New York, and Shanghai.
Dolinsky’s work is published in Leonardo, Discover, Computer Graphics World, U.S. News & World Report, and ACM’s Computer Graphics. Dolinsky co-chairs IS&T & SPIE Engineering Reality of Virtual Reality conference with Ian McDowall, Fakespace Labs. She received a Ph.D. from University of Plymouth, UK and an M.F.A. from University of Illinois at Chicago.
