Deb Christiansen is a Senior Lecturer of Fashion Design, the Executive Director of Academics, and Interim Assistant Dean for the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design. She is strongly committed to experiential learning (through site visits, competitions, internships etc.), the Individualized Major Program, the Intensive Freshman Seminar program, and fostering study abroad opportunities. She also serves as a faculty mentor to the Retail Studies Organization and to that organization’s production of the Fashion Design B.A. annual fashion show. In addition to her education and ongoing work at IU, Professor Christiansen worked professionally in fashion and costume design with Polo-Ralph Lauren, James Coviello, vendors at the Chicago Apparel Mart, Opera Theatre St. Louis, Doña Ana Lyric Opera, and other opera, theater, and film production companies nationwide.
