Join us for a lecture by guest artist Soumya Netrabile in the auditorium at The Republic Building. This event is free and open to the public.
Soumya Netrabile was born in Bangalore, India and emigrated to the U.S. with her parents when she was 7 years old. She first studied at Rutgers University, College of Engineering and then later at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Playing with different approaches to painting, she explores relationships between the body, terrain, and the natural world. Recently her work has been leading into meditations on the ecosystems of the forest and garden. She has most recently had solo shows at Andrew Rafacz Gallery in Chicago and Part 2 Gallery in Oakland. She has also had work included in shows at Anat Ebgi Gallery in Los Angeles and Karma Gallery in NYC. Her work is included in national and international collections.
