This fall's Miller M. Arch lecture series, in partnership with the Landmark Columbus Foundation, offers lectures by the 2025 Exhibit Columbus Miller Prize recipients. Each conversation will begin with a reading from an Indiana poet. Guests are invited to a reception preceding each talk.
The series begins with a talk by Charlie Vinz of Chicago-based Adaptive Operations and Shannon Stratton, Executive Director of Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists' Residency. The presentation will begin with a reading by poet Eugene Gloria, who teaches creative writing and English literature at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, after which Vinz and Stratton will discuss their work and practice, and how it relates to their Miller Prize-winning installation for Exhibit Columbus 2025, "Yes And."
Their project "Accessing Nostalgia" creates new apertures, literally and metaphorically, within and around the 136-year-old Crump Theatre that "allows a creative nostalgia to be projected; a nostalgia not for historic reenactment, nor for historic revision, but one that searches for a past perfect that can point to an idealized future."
On view August 15-November 30, the exhibition features thirteen new outdoor, site‑responsive installations built through partnerships with local organizations and inspired by Columbus’ modern design legacy.
Honoring two patrons of community, architecture, art, and design, the J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize has since 2016 recognized 19 studios participating in Exhibit Columbus. Now in its 10th year, the Miller Prize brings architectural excellence fostered by the Millers into dialogue with the best of twenty-first-century art and design, making it relevant to new audiences.
