Indiana University’s Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design welcomes students, families, artists and visitors to this year’s annual Open Studios event on Friday, October 20 from 5:30–9:30pm. ALL visitors are invited to try their hand at various art-making activities and view student artwork in multiple studio locations as this event is free and open to the public!
Visitor parking is available in the Global and International Studies/Wells Library lot, Eagleson Parking Garage, Fee Lane Parking Garage, the Studio Art Annex lot at 12th and Woodlawn, or the Indiana Memorial Union parking lot. The Eskenazi School will have three facilities open:
5:30–7:30 pm Kirkwood Hall

Merchandising, Architecture, Comprehensive Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Student Organizations
Work on exhibit by students.
Activities: Retail Studies Organization table w/program info and spinning wheel for change to win swag from RSO and/or Eskenazi School. View Miller M. Arch student work on display and get information about the program. See Fashion Design fashion sketching, student work, and learn about the Sage Collection. The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) at IU Campus Center will provide guests various options for interactive events, including material applications, understanding accessibility and code compliance, and information related to current standards and the history of design. The IIDA will also have information about their program.
6:30–8:30 pm Fine Arts Building

Creative Core, Digital Art, Fibers, Bookshop, Graphic Design, Grunwald Gallery, Jewelry & Metalsmithing, Painting, and Photography
Work on exhibit by BFA and MFA students.
Activities: Letterpress printed posters that participants can print and take home. The Grunwald Gallery has two exhibits open, "Derivations" and "Truly, in all sincerity". Paper bead making and temporary tattoos designed by Creative Core faculty. Guests are invited to choose from several letter and decorative stamps to decorate an aluminum dog tag.
7:30–9:30 pm Studio Arts Annex

Work on exhibit by BFA and MFA students in Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture.
Activity: Hands on clay demo (TBD).
Work on exhibit by BFA and MFA students in printmaking/Print Club.
Activities: Demos in lithography, screen printing, and relief. Guests will be able to make buttons, bookmarks, and patches.
