An immersive audiovisual recital featuring guitarist JIJI, interdisciplinary artist and Eskenazi School lecturer Megan Young, and composer Gulli Björnsson, Ljósíd uses shifting light and sound to explore how perception changes—how the same object can hold different meanings depending on illumination.
Featuring works by Max Richter, David Lang, Gulli Björnsson, and JIJI, the recital blends classical and electric guitar in a dynamic sensory experience. This is a preview performance. The premiere performance will take place on May 2 at Octave 9: Raisbeck Music Center, an innovative space within Benaroya Hall, home of the Seattle Symphony.
