Faculty Exhibition

Friday, January 13, 2012, 12:00 PM – Saturday, February 11, 2012, 4:00 PM

-

The Grunwald Gallery is pleased to present the Faculty Exhibition for the first time in the exhibition’s history. Previously, it has been on view every three years at the Indiana University Art Museum. Artworks created by more than thirty faculty artists representing the School of Fine Art’s ten studio areas will be on view. Contemporary works in a variety of media including textiles, printmaking, ceramics, graphic design, sculpture, digital art, video, photography, painting, metalsmithing, and landscape architecture works will be shown.

Exhibiting artists include tenured, tenure-track, and emeritus faculty, as well as new visiting faculty members Danielle Head, Chris Dacre, Ian Meares, Jennie Mynhier, and Chris Rothermel, who are participating for the first time. Paul Brown, Chair of the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts, states “this exhibit is an important opportunity for the faculty in the School of Fine Arts to show their work to the University and off-campus communities. This exhibit allows our students, the public, and local community to view the innovative work created by our talented faculty artists and learn more about the new developments being undertaken in each medium.”

Many of the award-winning faculty artists have exhibited nationally and internationally, including recent and upcoming shows in Chicago, Houston, New York City, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Paraguay. Works by some participating members have been included in museum collections around the world, and featured and reviewed in prestigious arts journals and magazines.
