Comp design faculty Racek to create sculpture for Hopewell Commons
Bloomington’s Hopewell Neighborhood will feature a large-scale public art commission by Eskenazi School faculty member Jon Racek. “Undulate” is a continuous landscape element comprising benches, playground equipment, and sculptural forms to be constructed from custom yellow large-diameter metal ductwork.

New Indiana University art exhibition "blurs the lines" between AI and man-made art

Mellencamp painting show is curatorial training ground for Eskenazi students
Along with his music career, Hoosier rocker John Mellencamp has maintained a painting practice for decades. Exploring sociopolitical themes in an Expressionist idiom, Mellencamp’s paintings are currently on view at IU’s Eskenazi Museum of Art. The show was curated by Eskenazi School students led by painting faculty Caleb Weintraub and former EMA director David Brenneman.
Eskenazi School will contribute to Lilly-funded revitalization at Trades District
Officials from IU, the city of Bloomington, and not-for-profit startup accelerator The Mill gathered August 29 to celebrate a $16 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to spur economic development and community engagement. Among other uses, the grant will support new artwork and cultural programming in partnership with the Eskenazi School.

Photographer David Levinthal "wants viewers to balance their assumption of credibility with the knowledge that [the photograph] is not real." The Grunwald Gallery will exhibit Levinthal's images of what appear to be women alongside the dolls that he actually photographed, both in the Kinsey Collection.
