Alumna Marilyn da Silva receives JRA Master of Medium award
A new accolade has just been added to Marilyn da Silva’s list of awards: Washington D.C.’s James Renwick Alliance (JRA) has named her a Master of the Medium in metal and jewelry!
These awards are given every other year to outstanding artists doing extraordinary work in the five traditional craft media: clay, fiber, glass, metal and wood.
McKinney International Residency deadline extended to February 25th
The School of Art and Design at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a 4-6 week Fall 2017 McKinney International Art and Design Residency. The residency is open to artists at all levels of their career whose primary country of residency is outside of the United States. Approximate dates for Fall 2017 are September 1st through Dec 18th.

The third annual NRF Foundation Gala took place Sunday, January 15, at Pier Sixty in New York City, featuring an exhilarating dinner and awards program that included both silent and live auctions. Interior Design student Charlotte Jolly wins 2016 Daltile scholarship
Dallas —Daltile, in partnership with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation, named Kristina Tribell winner of the fifth annual Daltile Interior Design Scholarship. During NeoCon East 2016 in Philadelphia, Tribell was presented with a $10,000 scholarship to continue her education in the field of interior design.
Printmaking Represents IU at National and International Conferences
The second largest printmaking association in the country, the MAPC is a highly regarded professional organization. This year’s conference in New Albany is hosting a series of juried activities and events in which IU’s printmaking students are heavily represented. Graduate students Matthew Batty, Andrew Trussler and Autumn Wright curated an exhibit titled Extended Family and an exchange portfolio titled Extended Family-Once Removed.
Meredith and Elsa McKinney Awarded Inaugural College of Arts and Sciences Old Crescent Award
Meredith and Elsa McKinney are awarded the College of Arts and Sciences inaugural Old Crescent Award of outstanding alumni contribution. Their generous support established the McKinney Visiting Artist Series, a permanently endowed program in the School of Fine Arts. Each year, the series brings 10 internationally known studio artists to the Indiana University Bloomington campus, and in doing so ensures that students have continuous access to a broad range of artistic techniques, perspectives, and ideas.
